From start to finish, Chase was fantastic. His immediate teams of craft persons were superb and I would strongly recommend Chase and his team for any project, large or small. We found Chase at the home show and were impressed by his openness. He called a few days before he was to come to my home and review the project and come up with the estimate.
In a few days he called and wanted to review what needed to be done and a cost associated with each item discussed. Once we reviewed and agreed to the price, along with what we wanted, he produced his estimate. Along with the estimate he provided not only his contractor’s license but also his driver’s license to show he was a credible contractor.
We had worked with another contractor on a previous remodeling, but were looking for a much higher quality job - particularly as it relates to the overall completeness of the work. I’m very particular when it comes to finish work. First, and perhaps most important, Chase was incredibly responsive throughout the remodeling project. He was easy to reach on his cell phone and would typically respond within a couple of hours. Chase also prides himself on punctuality and cleanliness. For a family living through a renovation this was absolutely critical.
He worked incredibly hard with us to establish a realistic budget for the extensive job we were planning. I was also personally impressed with how Chase orchestrated the entire project from start to finish. The only reasons the project didn’t start and finish as planned were twofold; our cities permits to have a dumpster on the street and inspection services. The process took about a week instead of the one to two days as promised. We added several items as well as the building inspector to upgraded fire and soundproofing to the project. Our combined decisions, along with Chase’s guidance and expertise, allowed the rooms being remodeled to be a showpiece.
For a family living in the mist of this major renovation, we were thrilled with how polite and responsive his team of professionals were. I could not imagine that his wallboard team could board the front hall and ceiling along with two rooms, walls and ceilings and a staircase closet in just a few hours. Next his plasters came and within a few hours all of the walls and ceilings were plastered and the finish looks like no sanding needs to be done. Next came the painting of the ceilings and walls, along with the window trimming and placement of the new doors. The electrician came and added all outlets, wall switches, lights and ceiling fans. The new hardwood floors came next, extending into the front hall and closet. The last return was the plumber who installed the baseboard heating system. Chase’s team deserves much of the credit for superb execution of the concepts that Chase helped us to develop with his electricians, plumber, wallboard personnel and plasterers.
We cannot wait for next year’s project. We developed a fast friendship with Chase’s team and they have my and my family’s complete trust. Chase’s subcontractors did great work, which we strongly believe is a reflection of Chase’s meticulous nature. Chase was always checking in with us throughout the project at least once or twice a week to see if we wanted to change or to correct anything and he is a superb listener. There isn’t a detail too small for Chase’s attention. Simply put, Maize Restoration and Remodeling brings craftsmanship, quality and excellence in the form of a true partnership. We very much look forward to our next project with Maize Restoration and Remodeling.
If you need to remodel your house in any way I highly recommend choosing Maize Restoration and Remodeling. I have never seen such professionalism in their work, as everything completed on time and without any surprise costs that some other contractors may add over the time of the renovation. If you’re scared to remodel because of all the hassle it would take, then you need to pick Chase. He will only come to you when needed to make design/color decisions. Otherwise, he’s detailed with plans and makes sure you get what you want. He does not cut any corners. Chase is a perfectionist when it comes to construction, from the material he uses to the fine construction work, molding and painting. The people that work with him respect him tremendously. All were great. There was never a day during the remodeling where someone was not working in the house. Overall, we had a great experience and would for sure work with Chase again. Maize Restoration & Remodeling is a company that stands far above the rest. This was evident from the first meeting. We had water damage from ice dams in five rooms of our home. Before meeting Chase the thought of having strangers in our home for two weeks brought us much anxiety. But, soon after meeting Chase our fear and anxiety was put to rest. He listened to all of our thoughts and concerns with professionalism and courtesy. He made us feel like we were talking to an old friend.
He explained every step of the remodeling process and always answered any questions or concerns we had with patience and understanding. He showed that same compassion and patience when reached by cell phone.
Every worker that came into our home treated us and our home with respect and kindness. Every part of the project was done with dedication and care. The quality of their work is outstanding. It is clear that they are passionate about their work and are not happy unless their customers are.
As they completed every task they would make sure that we were happy with the work and they left their workspace clean at the end of each day. We expected our home to be filled with plaster dust, but that was not the case. They kept the dust contained, which was greatly appreciated.
Chase also dealt directly with the insurance company, always keeping us informed. We hired Chase Piedra, owner of Maize Restoration & Remodeling, to renovate two bathrooms in our home. We are very happy with the outcome as both bathrooms are beautiful.
They started the downstairs bathroom on September 8, 2015 and completed October 28, 2015. This project consisted of tearing out a half-bath, redesigning the space and adding in a walk-in shower.
They started the second bathroom the first week of November, 2015 and the construction was completed by the end of January. This bathroom was a full bath for which we removed the tub and made a large walk-in shower.
The construction process went very well. Chase Piedra has a great construction team and subcontractors, tilers, plasterers, plumber and painter who were very professional, very communicative and very pleasant to work with. As the process was going they always checked in with us on our opinions on how we wanted things placed on how we wanted the construction to be. At the end of every day they cleaned up very nicely as well as showed us the work that was completed and explained what was going to take place the next day or coming weeks.
Chase Piedra, the owner, would come and check out the progress and always checked in to ensure that we were pleased with the work taking place. Any issues that were brought up he would address them immediately and resolved all issues during the process instead of the end of the project. Additionally, he would have his administrative assistant, Sandy, call every night to see if we had any other issues that needed relaying and if so would speak with Chase who would either call us back or Sandy would call or text back an answer to our questions.
We highly recommend this company for any renovation as Chase was great to work with and is very client focused.

After the rough winter of 2015 we were faced with an urgent need to work on a number of pressing projects around our house. Particularly, the ice dams had damaged a big portion of the walls and siding to the back of the house.
We have consulted with a number of homebuilders and general contracts and after a careful consideration decided to go with Chase and his company. From our first conversation with Chase we felt that he was giving us honest options and promised to start and finish the project on time and at the right price. We felt that he would be a perfect fit to work on such a project.
The scope of repairs consisted of replacing the porch door, replacing the deck steps, replacing and reinsulating the living room and kitchen walls along with roof repairs, the paint job and other miscellaneous tasks.
To our surprise, Chase went above and beyond to deliver the promised work. We were especially pleasantly surprised to know that Chase and his team of professional craftsmen worked very clean and were always on top of things. All the repairs were done on the highest level and he was always in communication with us to inform us of any changes, if any, along the way. Unlike our previous experience, Chase was very responsive to our calls and put our satisfaction as his top priority.
Chase had also helped with the insurance adjuster negotiations and followed up to resolve any outstanding tasks before signing off on the project.

I am pleased to write a recommendation for Chase Piedra, and Maize Restoration and Remodeling. Last spring, I had significant water damage to my Back Bay condo due to a melting ice dam that permeated the exterior brick, interior wallboard and window edges. I live in Los Angeles, so the process of finding a contractor that would be reliable was a daunting task. It is also not easy to find contractors that specialize in restoration of old construction and are willing to work in the city. When I met with Chase to bid the project, I immediately felt comfortable that he would do an excellent job with no on-site “supervision” by myself through the process.
Communication with Chase and his secretary was excellent. He responded to emails within a timely fashion. He even went above and beyond the scope, in meeting with the Comcast repair people in my absence (a stressful task even under the best of circumstances). The job included demolition of walls, mold removal, sealing interior brick, rebuilding of walls, painting, matching existing baseboards and refinishing floors. The work was done to all expectations and the space was thoroughly cleaned and ready for me to move my things back in when I returned to Boston. I found Chase to be very ethical and responsible. It is clearly very important to him that his clients are extremely satisfied with the work.

After meeting with several carpenters we decided to have Maize Restoration build a portico over our side door entry with attached overhang above the garage and we could not have been happier with our decision. Chase not only listened to what we were trying to accomplish, but also used his expertise to help improve on our plan and the end result was better than we had imagined.
Chase was very responsive to phone calls, text messages, and emails from the beginning of the project through the very end. His price was fair when compared to the other quotes that we had gotten. Chase and Andrew were always professional and courteous. Their team was consistently at our home working when they told us they would be here; we were never left wondering where they were or whether they would get here. They were very respectful of our property and careful to clean up each evening so that their equipment and supplies were out of the way, which was very important in the high-traffic areas of our driveway.

My wife Linda and I met Chase about a year ago at the home show at Foxboro Stadium. Speaking with Chase, we sensed that he was not your average home improvement general contractor. Over the years, we’ve dealt with several contractors, including home-building as well as improvements. We haven’t experienced anything better than a marginally positive outcome. Generally, we’ve found contractors haven’t treated us as customers; rather, it seemed like they were doing us a favor by doing the work. We’ve had trouble with difficulties getting calls returned, schedule problems, marginal ethics and questionable or poor workmanship. Right away with Chase, we sensed he was very much about customer satisfaction, leading to repeat business. He has an extensive portfolio of customer references, which he invited us to validate via personal contact with his customers. In itself, customers opening themselves to be a personal reference says a lot. We did check them out and got very positive reports.
Chase did a bathroom remodel for us. While small, we wanted our bathroom to be ‘spa like’ in the experience. Chase was professional and thorough in planning the work with us. No detailed was too small to be discussed. He was extremely prompt in his communications and always available for visits whether during the planning stage or the construction. Chase and his crew were very friendly, thorough and professional, taking great care not to create a mess outside the construction area and completely clean up at the end of every day’s work. What we sensed at the home show turned out to be true. Chase is all about customer satisfaction; that is job #1 for him.

Thank you for the remodeling that you recently completed on our living room. Although it was a relatively small change, it required a little bit of everything: carpentry, electrical, walls, ceiling, and floor. It has really opened up the area. It feels like we added a room.
You have a great team. All of you guys were friendly and courteous. I was happy to have them in my home. They did the job with a minimum of disruption, dirt and noise. They left the whole area clean, inside and out, at the end of each day. I was impressed that you even went down and cleaned the basement to get the debris that had shaken loose from the flooring.
I was also impressed that the job went so quickly and that you and your team showed up on time and kept us well informed. You were very focused. You came in, completed the job, and then left.
